-
DH reports bank balance remains around £1,000; Leveller's day takings were £148, weather was good, and Tracey Lean helped DH and PH with the stall. There are now a total of 7 wallcharts to sell, alonside recipe books, secondhand books, plants, and edibles.
-
PH has booked Headington Festival, Sunday 6th June 1-5pm. North Leigh festival can't do due to holidays. Event to be held in Abingdon 9th October for local groups to attend in the Guidhall (green theme). Waiting to hear about Elder Stubbs. Would be helpful to have information on the database about people willing to help on stalls.
-
PF has contacted the usual press about NVW. He has an interview with Louisa Hannan on Radio Oxford, Thursday 27th, 1pm. He will take food smaples to be tried by a meet eater (Louisa is veggie). DailyInfo have again created a dedicated page for NVW. Food demo all booked for Monday at Cuddesdon Kids Corner in Blackbird Leys. Fry's food samples didn't arrive, and PF is following up with Vanessa from the Vegetarian Society. Redwoods samples arriving tomorrow, and Grassington vouchers availab.le from a previous event.

-
Aston Street are having a “big lunch†in their street, one Sunday in June. PF has agreed to provide vegan food on understanding he can also distribute leaflets.
-
18th June – Dining Out Club, leaving meal for HS & AS at Pink Giraffe, St Clements
National March for Farm Animals
Saturday, 2nd October, World Farm Animals Day. Will include rallies, speakers, and a march through central London distributing leaflets. Organised by Animal Rights Coalition, and RF is main organiser. A simlar march was held for laboratory animals earlier in the year, and costs are estimated at 40,000 leaflet - £350, £3,000 A1 posters, £200. Draft poster shows an intensively farmed pig in a cage. VIVA and Animal Aid are supporting the march, and RF will also approach the Vegetarian Society and Vegan Society. RF is requesting that OxVeg consider donating money towards printing costs.
Two primary concerns were raised to ensure that the funding would be in line with the OxVeg remit (to promote vegetarianism and veganism in Oxfordshire)
the march must be pro-vegetarian rather than anti-meat
the march isn't specifically in Oxfordshire
RF will provide committee with draft wording for the leaflets to satisfy the first point, and will contact other local groups for the second (HS pointed out that it wouldn't be fair that only Oxfordshire veg*ians funded a national march).
Secretary position
Advertised in the Vegetarian, which arrived this week, and again in the online newsletter with a job description.
Sue Tibbles has volunteered to maintain the website (though would probably not attend meetings, and would have to be sent, e.g. minutes, to let her know what to put on the website).
PH has agreed to do the membership, starting in June (to allow for training time from AS).
RF has agreed to be the local contact for the Vegan Society, but isn't a member of the Vegetarian Society.
This leaves the tasks of organising committee meetings (room booking & agenda), minute taking, reviewing membership discounts annually, and general contact for the group. It was decided to wait and see if the Vegetarian advert would elicit any volunteers.
AOB
HS will pass on the OxVeg stoves, mugs, etc. onto DH to be kept with the stall equipment.
HS suggested two books to sell on the stalls – Vegan Cupcakes take over the world, and Vegan Cookies take over your cookie jar.
Next meeting
17TH June. HS to book & confirm room.
