Previously known as Oxford Vegetarians, we are a local voluntary group whose aim is to promote the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle to the moral, physical, environmental and economic benefit of humankind.
Activities include speaker meetings, informal socials, visits to local restaurants and running information stalls at local events.
Members with an email address receive a regular email newsletter - OxVeg Online News - previewing forthcoming events and reporting news and items of general interest to vegetarians and vegans. Members without an email address receive a quarterly diary of events by post. All members are entitled to claim discounts at a wide range of establishments in and around Oxford. For more details on joinging, please click here.
OxVeg was founded in 1967 by a group of vegetarians in the Oxford area (for more details see our about page and an article on the history of the group), and is run by a voluntary committee. We are affiliated to The Vegetarian Society of the UK and are a member society of the International Vegetarian Union
